Accessibility

Last updated: September 2026. A GiftPraise is usually sent at a moment that matters, so not being able to open one is worse than an inconvenience. This page sets out how accessible the service is today, what we have built for, and what we know is still missing.

What we aim for

We aim to meet WCAG 2.2 AA. We have not had an independent audit, so treat this as a statement of intent and of what we have tested ourselves, rather than a certification.

What we have built for

• Every page works from the keyboard alone, and focus stays visible.
• Text sizes are set in relative units, so browser and system zoom work.
• We honour "reduce motion". Where a page animates, that setting calms or stops it.
• We run no advertising or tracking scripts at all, so there is nothing fighting your assistive technology for the page.
• Nothing needs an account to open. A recipient never has to sign up to read their message.

Known limitations

These are the things we know about today, so you can plan around them.

• Captions and transcripts. We do not caption recordings automatically, so a video or voice message will not reach someone who is deaf or hard of hearing.
• A message is either recorded or written. Writing replaces a recording rather than sitting alongside it, so a video cannot currently carry a transcript. If your recipient needs to read your message, write it rather than record it.
• Recording needs a camera or microphone. Where that is not an option, writing a message is fully supported and always has been.
